Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna is set to take his political engagements beyond Kenya's borders with a two-week tour of the United States, where he is scheduled to visit five destinations as the Linda Mwananchi movement builds momentum ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The tour, scheduled to begin on November 20 and end on December 4, will take Sifuna to Pennsylvania, the Washington DC metropolitan area, Texas and the West Coast, according to an itinerary shared by the movement.

The announcement comes as Sifuna continues to participate in nationwide political mobilisation activities associated with Linda Mwananchi, a movement whose growing prominence has placed him at the centre of discussions about the opposition's strategy for the next election.

His rising profile has also prompted calls from sections of the political landscape for him to consider challenging President William Ruto in the 2027 presidential race.

The first stop will be Allentown, Pennsylvania, from November 20 to 22. He will then head to the Washington DC metropolitan area, commonly referred to as DMV, for engagements scheduled between November 23 and 26.

From November 27 to 28, the senator is expected in Dallas, Texas, before proceeding to Houston from November 29 to 30. The final leg will cover Seattle and California between December 1 and 4.

The tour will come at a politically significant moment as opposition leaders and emerging political formations seek to strengthen their support bases ahead of the next general election.

Sifuna has become an increasingly prominent voice in debates surrounding the future of opposition politics.

His association with Linda Mwananchi has drawn attention to the movement's mobilisation efforts and the possibility of new political alignments before 2027.
